power jet and idle??

Recommended Posts

My 02 yz250 would run on the choke but die out when the choke was pushed down. I took apart the carb to clean itand the powet jet was clogged. Problem is that i cant get it out...Anyone have any tips?? It looks like you need a screw driver but my regular sized screw drivers are too bigh and my small screw drivers are too small..

Also, what is used to set the idle on these bikes??

Is there a standard AIR screw setting?? 1 turn out ??

Thanks

There are two screws on the carb. The one with the spring is your idle screw (its right in the middle of the carb). The air screw is by the airboot side of the carb and the adjustment range is 1 - 2.5 turns. If its more than 2.5 turns out then you need a leaner pilot jet, less than 1 turn you need a richer pilot jet.
