They are there to sell magazines. It's hype. They have to keep you coming back
time had it when, mxa could declare a bike winner of a shootout and b.o.t.y.,
and i'd go out and buy one and be totally satisfied with it.
now it seems we have to read between the lines, and even if their observations are'nt excatly correct, it seems they can cast a dim shadow on a bike, and have us believe it so much that it becomes true!
dont know what happened, but when i got my 09 crf450, it was the perfect bike, right out of the box. then the more i rode it, the more it wasnt quite working for me, crashing hard one day made me question if the bike was truly unbalanced...and now, its still a good bike, but somehow, that shadow on it....
we seem to seek their blessing, before pulling that almighty trigger.
Either MXA is spot on, or they have evolved to some strange level of
I assume it also didn't hurt that you "got an offer to ride a Yamaha for cheap next year".
I also got the KTM for cheap... I ride what I consider to be the best bike for me and it may not be the same bike which is best for you...
The YZ won... It wouldn't have mattered if I got a deal or had to pay full price...
That's how I feel now, except it's the KTM, not the YZ that won.
