Why no disscussion about under-cutting gears?

Recommended Posts

seems they are targeting street transmissions and not offroad.

Plus, I never have issues with it kicking out of gear

Seems like a good thing to do on rebuild of the gear box. I have a friend who had Yoshimura ceramic bead polish his gear sets to prevent jumping, reduce friction (and thereby increase HP) on his 450R. I had the pleasure of riding his bike and runs incredibly well. I have occassional gear jumping problems on the X and R but it's operator error. Bone stock performance of gear boxes on Hondas is pretty darn good though.

IMO it's used more for drag racing.

...add... "and land-speed type applications"

BINGO... this is primarily used in "lock-up" high horse power, straight-line racing applications...

"the micro-polishing" that c00b mentions, is completely different, and used for completely different applications and reasons, but the reasons are more closely related to our particular type of riding..
