crf250x exhaust

i have a 250x bike. i was wanting to purchase a new exhaust due to damage, but was wondering what to buy because there a tons of brands and such. well i was just wondering if any of you guys could help me out. thanks

First, you should probably visit the 250X forum...see above link.

Second, do you just want a replacement, then what mods have you already done?

If you want a replacement that is affordable, I would suggest a 04-05 CRF250R silencer, those can be had on Ebay or new from ServiceHonda.com for about 1/3 of what aftermarket cost. Add that to cutting the airbox and rejetting the carb and you will get a noticeable power gain, If you stick with the X head-pipe you will not loose any low end. You can use the R head-pipe, but that will take away some of your low end torque but give an additional (small boost on the top end of the powerband).With the R can you will have to obtain a spark arrestor if you ride trails in adddition to the cost of the pipe.

Any aftermarket exhaust you get that does not require rejetting of the carb is not going to be a big power adder, mostly it will only change the tone and decibel level of your bike. There are numerous pipes and numerpous opinions of them, FMF, Procircuit, DRD, MRD are some of the most popular.
