Hydraulic clutch

Recommended Posts

Anyone fitted a hydraulic clutch to there 250 X, and if so what results you had ? Any negative effect on clutch wear ?

I had one on my R and raced it off-road for 2 seasons. Sold it with the original basket and plates.

If anything it's easier on the basket and plates, because the free-play is self adjusting and doesn't snap back like a cable does.

I'll never own a bike again with a cable clutch. It's just so much smoother.

I put it on mine. It works great but for gnarly woods and single track riding I wish I would've just spent the extra money on reckluse clutch instead.

Overall 20-30min install. 10 fold improvment over cable clutch. Reckluse would be 100 fold improvement over stock.

I had one on mine just before I got a Rekluse. I didn't tie up the hyd. line and it touched the exhaust and burnt through. It was nice right before that though. I got a Rekluse around the same time, so I never looked into getting a new line, just took it off. If you can get a new line, I'd sell you the rest of the parts (Magura-lever/mst cyl, slave cyl and bleed kit). Let me know.
