89 rm 250 exhaust valve question...

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have 1989 suzuki rm 250 bike with original 89' cylinder and exhaust valve.

I have the new 1990 Suzuki RM 250 original cylinder that was cheap to buy on eBay. ($ 300)

I know that the '89 engine fitted the '90 cylinder, but also fitting that the exhaust valve?

I still know that the '90 exhaust valve, Part No. 11261-28C20

The '89 exhaust valve Part No. 11261-28C01

Is the difference between the size or something else?

I hope you understand "my English".

If I recall correctly the part numbers read like this:

first five digits = the actual part number

next two digits = the bike the part is used on

last three digits = the revisions to the part

1989-1992 all used the same exhaust valves. So, your '89 valves should work fine in that '90 cylinder.

My 90 RM250 has an 89 cylinder. Exhaust valves swapped right over. The cylinders had one small difference though. The 89 cylinder uses 2 screws to hold the exhaust valves where the 90 uses 3.

Hi

Thanks Uncle Alpo & aaront!!!

I was beginning to fear that it will be good for the exhaust valve.

But fortunately you're here and helped in the far distance.

Again thanks....
