symptoms of a bad head gasket and o-ring.

Recommended Posts

Compression will over pressure the cooling system and force coolant out past the radiator cap. Depending on the severity of the leak, you'll will likely have to add coolant to the system regularly.

With the engine cold, pull the radiator cap off of the radiator and put it right back on. Start the bike and give it a couple of slight revs and shut it off. Take the radiator cap off and listen for a pressure sound. If there's is pressure present, then you have compression leaking into the cooling system (most likey head gasket). Pressure is present in a cooling system due to heat expansion or compression. If the motor is cold and there's is pressure present after a couple of cold revs, then it's compression, not heat exspansion.
