Recommended Posts

well i see a few companys have the 67mm atc race piston listed as 12:1, i want to bump the compression up on my 175 kitted 150f, sounds like this might be a winner. anyone played around with it?

The problem you'll have with the ATC piston or XR200 piston is the deck height will be wrong. In order to accomodate different stroke and rod lengths in the various engines, the wrist pin location is altered in the piston so that it comes to the top of the cylinder at TDC.

If you install the wrong piston, the piston will be down in the cylinder or sticking out the top at TDC. You will need to use a piston designed for the CRF150. I believe BBR sells a hi compression 67mm piston for your application. Powroll may have something that will work as well.

all those deck heigth problems can be changed rather easy. this is not rocket science. so you have worked with it? or is this another guess?
