Cam Chain Guides XT350

I have an '88 XT350 that has munched one of the cam chain guides. As I understand it, the engine didn't change a lot during the XT350 model years. I have found a set on ebay that state they came out of an '87 model. Would i be correct in ASSuming that they would fit the 88 model?

Also, is there a thread in here somewhere that would give more info on the evolution of the bike?

As long as they're in good shape, any year cam chain guides should fit. There is very little difference between years (produced '85-'00)other than a few graphics/color changes. I've fit an '85 shock, wiring harness, and carb on a '93. I have a '98 now, with no difference from my '93 other than color...

none of the differences where internal to the motor so you should be good to go.
