Am I just built for a 450?

i have a ktm450 right now and i love the power of it. im looking at buying another bike and getting a 250 but im wondering if itl be to small and weak for me. im a bigger guy but not huge. im 5'11 and 200 lbs. would the 250 be too small for me? im planning on racing motocross next season. should i just stick with a 450?

Stick with the 450. I am same height and 180 lbs and I bought a 250f and put a bunch of money in the engine. A few months later I was back on the 450. For racing you just can't beat the 450s smooth power. 250s are funner though.

Depends on what and how you ride and which 250....2 st or 4 st...

I know a lot of 200+ lb'ers that race both 250's

four stroke 250. i might be buying an 05 kx250f but if so ill most likely be putting a big bore kit in it

Your not to big for a 250 . I weight 225 and have raced both successfully. Go with whatever you will have the most fun on. If your a newer rider most people like 250's cause they are not intimidating like a 450.

I agree, the 450 doesn't make you better or faster. Any 250 can out do a 450 with a descent rider. Ride what you feel comfortable with and you will do better. I understand the 450 thing. I bought mine thinking 6',200lbs was required to be on a 450 but that is not true. That being said, I love my 450, I like that with a twist of the throttle I can make back all the time I gave away in the corner because I am a pretty bad rider. I would probably be faster on a 250 and have more fun.
