Yz 125 overflow leaking

Went riding about 2 weeks ago and about halfway through the day i noticed that my carburetor overflow was constantly leaking fuel and i dont know what caused it and how to get it fixed. The bike is a 03 yz125 and help on this topic would be greatly appreciated

your float could be stuck.. or the needle a seat is not sealing..

Remove the carb and give it a good cleaning. Be sure to go over the inlet needle and seat really good. Should solve your problem.

Floats probably stuck... probably time for a carb clean. Might be gunked up!

I was finally able to get carb taken apart today....Cleaned it up and put it all together and its still peeing gas:banghead: Don't know whats wrong with it

Measure your float height... Im willing to bet its not correct to spec. Check your manual to see where it should be and bend the tab accordingly.

Me thinks you've got a piece of rubber from the fuel shut off gasket stuck in it. The one that looks like a face... bet there's a piece missing and it's stuck in the carb. I had to use a piece of wire to get one out of my son's 85.

Possible but I doubt it unless he took his petcock apart!

Au contraire. They dry rot over time, and little tiny pieces get in the fuel line and work their way into the carb. That little tiny bastard piece of rubber would not come out w/ compressed air... it took some digging.

I took it all apart and cleaned it so i might have got it out if there was anything in there. How am i supposed to check the float height

I just took the floatbowl off and hooked the carb up to the gas line. Turned the petcock on with the floats down and gas went in like it should but when i pushed the floats up it only slowed down the gas flow and didnt stop it. Does this mean the o-ring in my needle valve or the whole needle valve is bad??

You'd think that there was an o-ring, but I can't see it on the parts diagram... It may come with the valve itself, I can't remember how mine went together when I took it out..

I took it apart and i was almost positive that there was an o-ring on the needle valve but i don't think you can just buy it separately without having to buy the whole assembly

yes when I took mine apart and rebuilt it, the assembly came with the seal

I have had the little spring plunger on the needle stick shut before.
