Will a 2005 WR250f stock muffler fit on a 2001 WR250F?

Hi Guys,

As tittle says.

Will a Stock muffler from a 2005 WR250F fit on a 2001 Wr250f (without changing the header pipe)

After looking at the OEM parts database the mufflers itself are different in shape but the pipe/mount holes all seem to look identical.

I read in the FAQ that "01-02, 03-05, 06 and 07 exhausts are unique to themselves" - does this mean the 05 muffler wont bolt up to my 2001? Or does it just mean that the design of the actual muffler is just different?

So will a 2005 muffler fit on my 2001?

it will fit ! checked against one today (yz) and looks exact same.. wont guarantee it but hey, it looks exact ? heres the zost in question !

so what are the mods needed ? it looked same to me, sure i didnt measure it up but held it against the frame...but looked ok.

The bolt that goes into the mid section there on the subframe may not line up, and the bottom of the shock resovoir may be very close to the pipe also, causing it to heat up. If you use it that way, make sure it doesn't come into contact with it.

Pipe from a 05 wr250f DOES fit on a 2001 model without any issues at all.

All bolts line up fine, there is heaps of clearance between the exhaust and shock resovoir and shock (as normal).

Just dont be so negative if you havent even tried to fit one as you obviously didnt know ! Its all good but thanks, it was kinda satisfying ?..
