chopper tyres

im not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but on custom choppers etc why do the tyres have a normal tread pattern then in one spot it changes to an s-bend type of grove across the tyre?

Not sure exactly what you mean but with street tires te sides of a tire tread are usually different from the center. Often there is a center rid tread like a truck tire for highway stability. Sometimes the center rib is wavy i guess.

On the back tire it all depends on the type of tire and the tread design. My Michelin Pilot Road 2 rear has a wavy line that goes across the tread horizontally but not a whole lot else and extra grooves in the sides near the shoulder of the tire.
