Hone scuff ball

I need to hone my 99 CR250's cylinder & was looking on ebay & I came across a hone scuff ball. Looks like a waxing power ball but is abasive. Anyone ever used one? It's like 13 dollars as compared to 40 for an actual ball hone.

I was always told to use a brush hone as a ball hone can catch in a port

Well in that case there is an 80, 180, & 400 grit. They are aluminum oxide like what is recommended so what grit? I figured the 180 but it's a little coarser than what I've seen to use.

240-360 grit, all you're trying to do is deglaze the cylinder you don't wanna remove/damage the plateing
