I use pledge. I wouldn't use windex at all. I have in the past and had bad resaults. lemon pledge is the secrete to a shinny clean bike.

I use simple green and scotch brite pads to clean off the metal components and tough scratches on graphics and plastics.. then go over it with some honda spray polish or motul shine and go.. my bikes stay shiny.. Just my .02

I use invisible glass foam window cleaner for almost everything on my bike whether it is shining my plastics and rims or removing dirt grim and oily build up.

I get mine from the dealership....parts stores don't seem to carry it. Get it you will be amazed!! spray it on the fenders as well as underneath and on the skid plate..mud/dirt will not get stuck...as a previous post said "new bike in a can"...did I mention is smells good also? ?
