06 KX450F Suspension on 05 KX250?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if we can take the forks and shock off of an 06 Kx450f and install them on to an 05 KX250 2 stroke?

get a caliper and measure the forks outside diameter where they clamp on the triple clamps. if they are they same then you can do it. They are both KYB's although I suspect the 06 450's to be bigger by a couple millimeters. But they could be the same. As far as the shock goes, you need to pull them and measure the length eye to eye.

I tried 07 450f forks in a 05 KX250. they didn't fit due to a different upper fork leg diameter. I guess 06 forks are the same diameter as 07, so you have to swap the upper triple clamp too, but I don't know if it fits

I put 07' kx250f forks in an 07' kx450 and like you say the upper clamp had to be changed. I had a set of 07' 250f uppers sitting around so used them.

the 250f has showa forks, don't know the diameter, the 250 2-stroke 56mm upper leg diameter, the 450f 54mm dia.

my 07' 250f had 2mm small diameter at the top clamp than the 07'450f if I remember correctly.
