Would a 125 be enough!?

Hello! I am a trail rider, and I would like to try the YZ125 out, again. Yes, I had a 2000 YZ125 (some may remember) and as I have been thinking about it, I miss it and I would like another! I haven't really ridden hard in about half a year, but I want another bike.

I was wondering if the YZ125 would have enough power to pull me through the woods after modding it (Pipe, Shorty, FWW, Reeds, Gearing) or should I get a 250. I just know that I won't even use all the power of the 125 on the trails, but I am worried about it not having enough grunt for me.

When I had a 125 last, it was bone stock with -1 rear sprocket (more speed) and hard terrain tires and it was a nightmare on the trails!

Here is a video of similar trail I ride. This kid is very good on the 125, but he seems smaller than me too!

I am 240lbs and 5'9''

The 250 sounds like a cool bike, but I know that it would be too much for the trails, and it would tire me out having to fight the power..

A 250cc two-stroke would be a good choice for you.

If I weighed 240lbs...I would not consider a 125!

I'd spring for the 250 if it were me...but you've had a 125 before and liked it, so go for it. It'll haul you around just fine. I don't think you'll enjoy long, steep hill climbs, though. Just my 2 cents.
