new monster wheels wont fit on rmz

Ive got an 05 rmz450 that I just bought some used black wheels from a 08 kx450. The rear wheel mounted up no problem but the front axle will not go through the new front black hub from the kx because the axle is slightly larger on my rmz.

My ? is can I buy the same axle as the kx and possibly put an aluminum type ring around each side of the new axle to make up for the loss of mass that this one has over the oem from my bike? In doing this I would possibly take up the loss in diameter so that it would still mount on the bottom of the forks.

Probably be easier just to buy the right size bearings. Just make sure that the inner spacer will fit also.

oh, so its just the bearings holding the axle from sliding through. I was thinking the hub was a different diameter. Thanks
