5102.jpg510.jpg on a lead from my Brother, i picked up this 86 Husky 510 TE for 200.00

was under a tarp burried under snow drift in Leadville Co..

talked with the guy for a few mins, said it hadnt run in a couple years,.

asked him how much?? he said..make an offer.

i said. i have 2 krisp 100.00 bills in my pocket. SOLD!!

i dug it out, he went to the bar lol..

had no fuel, so we added a bit of fresh...started right up, 3rd kick...

rode it around the block, stuffed it in my Brothers shed,,he will bring it down to Denver next week....gotta make more room...

Got this 85' TE in 91' paid $1000 for it, rode it for 10 years as my primary ride(I average about 1000 miles a year). paid two and one half times that for a total engine rebuild (everything but the piston!) by Up-Tite Husky. Still, this bike (and the original piston)gives me a lot of good weekends of riding and Post Vintage racing.

paid 300.00 off CL for this one last week.

got a nice original headlight and some other spare bits as well.007-2.jpg

Nice!! I had to pay 2x that for my husky. I guess patience is key.

I'm glad to hear it is in running condition! congrats.

It's my dream to come across a big bore smoker for about the same price someday

That's a very nice 510

I have the same affliction, when my bikes are setup in Enduro fashion, I've always got to run the amber light bulb, they cost extra but they looked cool, but work so well, at night, instead of black and white vision like you get with white light,.. with amber light you can see colors like greens and browns,(see much better :ride:) my light kicks ass ....xr xl drs forget it. I'll post a pic soon, gotta find it.....like you haven't heard that one before

ps Huskychuck, my suzuki dealer wants $98+tx for a (one) drz 400s rear view mirrior. I guess I kinda laughed....heading out...

You're going to need a bigger garage soon Huskychuck! Perhaps you could open a Husky museum...

Keep the pics coming, I love to see this classic iron.
