450 SX fuel tank for hare scrambles

I'm trying a 1.8 gallon stock SX fuel tank on my 2003 450 MXC and was wondering if this tank will be large enough for a 2 hour hare scramble? Any help?

i doubt it. if you ride slow and not hard on the gas then maybe, but if you are on the throttle at all, i would say no.

i know friends who thought they had topped off their tank enough and ended up running out on the last lap of a 45 min moto. 2 hours???

if you are not sure....race with your mxc tank, start topped off, then when your next race is over measure how much it takes to top it back off to the same point you started at.

Is the EXC tank any bigger than the SX tank? I see a lot of guys racing with stock EXC tanks.

the exc tank is about 2.4 g, not positive on each years size, but usually about that.
