Rookie Jetting a 00'YZ426F

Recommended Posts

I've never messed with the carb(intimidates me). But now that I have installed the FMF Powerbomb and Powercore muffler I'm in need of re-jetting. After install bike started right up and had noticeable low-end power increase, but when at slow speeds in would stall out. Also, it almost sounded like it was hissing.

Current jetting is stock:

Main Jet: 162

Pilot Jet: 42

Starter Jet: 72

Leak Jet (if any): N/A

Fuel screw/Setting: 1.25 - 2.0 turns out

Needle/Position: OBEK4

2000 YZ426F

Elevation:4400'-10000'

Temp:75-100f

Humidity: Very Low

Single Track Riding

FMF Powerbomb

FMF Powercore

Stock Motor

Twin Air Filter

What do you recommend as a starting point? Thanks in advanced for any input.

In Denver at 5800 feet that bike needs a 155 main. You shouldn't need more than a 158 down at 4500. The fuel screw should be more like 1.75 turns out.
