Wheel spacer question (Excel SM wheels onto E)

Recommended Posts

Guys,

There are some DR-Z400SM Excel wheels on eBay, they don't come with spindles or spacers.

Will my 400E spacers be OK to use with these wheels, or are the hubs different?

Cheers,

Con

Do they have Talon hubs? Depending on how old they are, the earlier Talon hubs required a spacer the fork leg side of the speedo drive. I have a set for my E, a call to Talon with the number on the hub will get you what you need if this is the case.

As PTGarcia says, E spacers are the same and if they're Factory Excel rims with Suzuki hubs they'll bolt straight up.

Yep, definitely identical, the hub part numbers are the same so they can't be different.

Nice to meet you today Con. Glad I could help out with the Pair Valve plate. If you get some wheels I know a few guys who can make the spacers up if needed plus you can try out my SM spacers to be sure of the fit.

on my 08sm the chain sprocket comes off , there are rubber bushings between it and the hub as some kind of shock absorbers

Mine doesn't have cushdrive rubbers, can you post a picture? Maybe you have Rad Engineering hubs?
