Help w/ "the fixes" for my DRZ- in VA

Recommended Posts

Hi all. Here's the skinny and what you may be able to help me with. I'm in Charlottesville, VA and I have an '05 DRZ 400 S w/ about 6K on it.

I do not have a garage nor all the proper tools, and above that I don't trust myself not to screw something up. I need to do the primary nut fix, as well as loctiting the other weak spots (though I did loctite the drive sprocket last year.) The bike runs great, but it takes the fun out of it knowing I'm playing Russian roulette each time I spling my leg over it.

Last year I mentioned the primary nut thing to the shop over the mountain (Wayne Cycle- they've always been great) but they looked at me like I was nuts (as in "why would you fix something that isn't broken?") I get why, but still...

Anyone know who I could hit up in my area to help me through this? Either a shop or an individual. I'm willing to dig in and do the actual work, if someone were there to shadow me and lend a hand/tools, and to make sure I don't screw the pooch along the way.

Thanks!

Eric
