case saver

Recommended Posts

hey, anyone have a recommendation for a case saver for my kicker? I know stator cover is different from an e model, not sure if it matters? The one I have now is basic and doesn't inspire alot of confidence. I'd like something that kind of wraps around the sprocket-- ?

I got the one they sell here on TT, and although it says it will not fit, seems fine to me. I have not installed yet...but held the case savers against the cases and there does not look like there will be any issues. That is not a promise they will work on your bike. I may be wrong too...when I go to install, might hit an issue.

Both the CFC or the TT case saver does not fit the DRZ S/SM/E left hand case. The kicker cover is different. Some have used the available case saver any way and made it fit with a bunch of radial cuts and bent to fit, to just gooped on the RTV to "seal" it to the case.

Other then that, it's make your own for the kicker

no problem..as soon as I install.

Now though, were you were asking about case savers, which here at TT, are the ones that get glued onto the side engine cases, and protect them, OR, a counter shaft sprocket cover.??

Well, originally I was inquiring about the c/s sprocket cover, but the glue on case savers seem like a great idea as well- interested to see how it goes for you. I've been doing a bit of surfing around and have found 2 options for c/s sprocket cover-

any other options or ideas?

I bought normal E/S glue on case savers for my kicker and carefully bent and trimmed it to fit, it only took a few minutes. Dont buy a carbon fibre one tho unless its made for the Kicker. Those bb Ali product look nice!

That Topar racing one was on my bike when I bought it. Looks like a quality unit.

well, ended up with the topar racing unit-- looks like it will do the trick, although mud seems to build up in it a bit. Also went ahead and got a couple stick-on case guards. the clutch side fits just right, the stator side not so much.. glued it on anyway.

Yup its the stator side that is the problem because the case is different. The stick on guards are really important believe me!
