as far as I know Thera only one compound for the fron but the rear has two. The 150/70 is for DS and is harder. The 150/60 is SM and is softer from what I understand.

The SM variants are named for their rim width. The 150/70 is designed for a 3.5" rim.

You'll want to run the 120/70 in front.

Your SM has a 3.5" front and 4.5" rear rim width, so the options are a 150/60-17 or 160/60-17 in the rear. The 150 is 148mm overall width and designed for a 4.25" rim; I run this tire, and so do several of my friends. The 160 is 160mm overall width and designed for a 4.5" rim; it should fit without chain rub, but I know there has been rub with a tire of 164mm overall width.

They work great...way better than Battle AX BTO16's in the dirt/mud?

I ride a SM and 75% street and 25% dirt
