How can you tell if your bike is at full power?

Recommended Posts

So.. i bought a used SM250R... downloaded the TE250 Manual...

and there are many references to whether you are at normal power or competition power.

Also noticed some people discussing going to full power with the power up.

How can you tell if your bike is at full power or not? Is this simply a throttle restrictor? hmmmm....

Any help is appreciated....

Thank you.

Is the manual for a 2006? Because recent years '08- up "power up" refers to eliminating emissions restrictions and removing o2 sensor from an EFI motor. The stock muffler on an '06 is quite restricted so you could modify or buy a new slip-on. JD Jet kit also could power you up too.

Here's what i am seeing in the manual:

If TE and SMR are transformed in

COMPETITION MOTORCYCLES (with FULL

POWER ENGINE), the suggested maintenance

table for competition use is shown on pages 282

and 288.

IMPORTANT

The reference for recognition of the guarantee

will be the MOTORCYCLE CONFIGURATION, as

shown below:

A) - STANDARD MOTORCYCLE, STREET

LEGAL: with LIMITED POWER ENGINE

 - COMPETITION MOTORCYCLE, RACING

USE: with FULL POWER ENGINE

The manual is the 2005-2007 TC/TE/SMR 250/450/510 manual that you can download straight from Husqvarna under catalogues.

Throttle stop, Need to enable the Accelerator pump, Dont think it comes with emissions crap hanging off it as my bike was 2nd hand. Go to important information at the top of the husky page and it tells you how to do all this stuff.
