Honda XR 250 1991 shock valving. Need help.

Hi guys, i'm from Lithuania, so i apologise for any mistakes i will make. :thumbsup:

XR250 stock shock, '91 years.

I'm looking something for motocross track, for a very small budget, because i had to seal my KX125, because of money. so can't afford profesional valving systems and etc.

The thing is that shock is bottoming out after every jump, and this is anoying. My weight is 145lbs. (I'm only 17 years old, and slim)

So the stock valving is:

Rebound:

30x.25x12 |x5

28x.25x12 |x1

27x.25x12 |x1

26x.25x12 |x1

25x.25x12 |x1

22x.25x12 |x1

Compression:

34x.25x12 |x4

20x.25x12 |x1

34x.25x12 |x1

But i could be really wrong. So any suggestions would help me a lot.

you could also add a 32.25 to make it firmer, as well as the changes you have shown.I would also consider more face shims on compression, maybe 2 more.

I've never played with this machine but here is one example you can try.

just thinking a better idea for a old heavy bike like this with little progression (used for mx)would be a single stage stack.

eg

34x.25x12 |x5

30x.25x12 |x1

28x.25x12 |x1

26x.25x12 |x1

24x.25x12 |x1

22x.25x12 |x1

21x.25x12 |x1

20x.25x12 |x2(spare shim here)

this uses all the same shims as std.
