quick question

im new to dirtbikes ive gotten riding down okay and started jumping. when i jump every once in while my bike slants instead of staying up and down(for example instead of being like straight up and down im / ) is there anyway to correct this somewhat in mid air? thanks

ya instead of being straight up and down like a I im slanted like this /. i other words the wheels are farther to the left and my body and upper part of the bike is right.

A few things can cause this:

Wheel spin on the way up the jump can cause the rear wheel to step out.

A rutted face of a jump can lead to this if your bike starts to climb out on the way up the face.

If you you lean to one side on the way up the jump can also cause this. You are in effect starting to whip the bike.

The only correction is to steer into the lean. Picture it just like countersteering when you lose traction on flat land.

It's better to learn the cause of the effect rather then the reaction.

maybe you are a natural and you are already scrubbing.

that i what i thought when it happened to me. Then i tried to do it on purpose..... not good lol
