Merge, R&D Racing, or Boyesen???

Recommended Posts

Is there a significant difference between these three adj. leask jets??

The merge is $150, and you must drill a hole in your float bowl?

R&D Racing power pump 2 is $140, bolt on?

Boyesen Quickshot 3 is $108, bolt on?

If they're the same, I can save $42 going with the Boyesen.

Has any one used the Boyesen? I've searched and found a thread comparing the other two, but nothing about this one?

I'm looking for real experience with the Quickshot 3, not the origional or the QS2.

Thanks, Phil

Keep in ind the side the adjuster will be on. The R&D is facing right, the Merge, left. I had a R&D, it worked fine, but the adjuster was too close to the exhaust. The Merge unit is better finished too. I never have used any Boysen stuff as I have not been impressed with them as a company.

Think realistically before you buy one, are you going to tweak it often, meaning does the riding places vary a great deal (single track on day, then open desert riding the next)? Are you good enough with jetting to notice small changes and have already set you bike up perfectly?

The only people I rec. getting an ALJ is for those when carb removal requires sub frame, exhaust and shock removal. Then the cost is justified over a few $5 peices of brass.
