engine oil

wont be the best oil for sure. You will probably notice bad clutch performance and notchy shifting. buy an oil that is designed for the gearbox.

grab some lucas high performance motorcycle oil off the shelf at any auto parts store. It ends up costing me about $4 to change my oil every time and it's made specifically with a motorcycle wet clutch in mind. Plus it's readily available (no mail order or waiting around for the dealer to open) at most auto parts stores and they heavily support our sport, so it's a win/win situation all the way around.

Lucas Amsoil are both big sponsors of the sport.

So is Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki. They all have their brand specific oils.

I have always found the Honda HP to work best in any 2stroke and the CRF gearboxs. everything else is notchy and causes clutch issues. Plus the bottle is pointed making it easy to pour
