Replacing left crankcase - please help

Recommended Posts

I got the crank case off, I got the stator off, I got the 2 snap rings out but now I cannot get the rubber piece that sits below where the stator inserts, any suggestions? Also, to get that little metal piece out below the smaller snap ring?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

through some more research i learned it's an oil seal. how can i get it out? can i re-use it?

the rubber oil seal is simple to remove, but it 'snaps' in place. try using a thin L shaped hook or a small eyeglasses screwdriver to get the back side of it through the middle to raise it and then with your pinky finger, pluck it out. if you would rather buy a new oil seal, it comes out easily with pliers. i don't see there being a problem re-using it unless you poked it badly with the circlip remover or damage it somehow.
