Tusk Seal Guards or stock boots?

Recommended Posts

I'll be changing springs and oil in my forks soon, so I have the option to lose the stock boots in favor of the Tusk Seal Guards. Anyone have any thoughts on these things?

I just put some on my bike. I like the look a lot better than the stock accordions. I haven't ran these much, but I had some on a XR200R for quite a while, and liked them on there too. They don't seal perfectly, the seam where they are sewed together stretches open when you put them on. At least mine did, maybe I got them too small. I don't remember what the sizes are, but I know that our 43mm forks fall right on the line between two sizes they offer, so I went with the smaller one, and they are very tight. I'd try the larger one next time. A friend has Seal Savers brand on one of his bikes, with the velcro, and I like them better. They are a lot easier to get off to clean under them... They seal a little better too I think, not having the seam to deal with.
