ok to use mrd/ssw pipe with stock sm/getting temporily?

Recommended Posts

Hello, my mrd/ssw pipe is ready to be picked up from the post office this afternoon. Im wondering if its ok to install on a stock sm with stockjetting for 1-2 weeks? My fcr should be arriving some time next week but I want to put the pipe on asap and not wait until I get the fcr next week. Im guessing it may run lean or the bike mightnt run properly, is there any risk of damaging anything or should I just wait?

Thanks, Jerome

You could install it, start it and check for exhaust leaks, etc. I wouldn't ride it like you stole it until your carb is installed and jetted, though.

Thanks Eddie and everyone else for the replies, its on. Sounds sooooo nice  Should of got the baffle for when i'm commuting but oh well doesn't matter, hopefully I don't get to much attention from the cops.

Has a bit of a pop and backfire on deceleration, i'm guessing the backfire bit will go away with the fcr and proper jetting leaving only the occasional pop.
