slippery boots.. help please

Recommended Posts

just got a new pair of riding boots, when i try and kick start the bike my foot slips off and cant get a good kick on it, especially when there muddy and wet. I was thinkin of maybe sprayin the end of the kicker w some of that truck bed liner or somethin with some grit on it to get some better grip. Any ideas??

thanks

Swing the lever out until it's all the way out. Does it go past 90 degrees? If so, the lever pivot is worn and may need replaced. I've heard of some guys welding on small washers on the end of the lever to keep your boot from slipping off.

If it is not what was said above, (over extension of the kickstart assembly) I would suggest simply walking/running around for a few minutes on some asphalt with your boots to scuff up the bottom rubber. Or, I'd imagine that after a few rides, the footpegs will have done their job on the bottom of your boots anyway.

I seen were the pro riders take a file and sharpen the kicker pedal....just like sharpening foot pegs.......
