Is DC relay required when changing ONLY the back signal lights?

Recommended Posts

Hey all

Quick question ...

Is the installation of a DC relay required when installing LED signal lights ONLY on the back (leaving the front turn signals stock)??

Just wondering if the front "bulbs" would add enough resistance in the circuit working in conjunction with the rear LED signals so that a relay is not required.

Anybody else have this setup (LED back - stock front)??

Thanks:thumbsup:

I have the same setup ,and used resistors for the rear turn signals.

If you don't get an electronic relay or resistors ,the signals will flash very fast

When I hooked mine up the rears and led edge worked fine. Only when imaddd led front turn signals did it stop working right.

If you have just the led tail light things work fine.

If you have led tail light and led rear ony turn signals it works they just flash faster.

If you do all led turn signals then you need the relay.

I had bought the autoparts store one and had no luck. Had to get the dc and all as fine after that.
