My first shim job...set gaps where?

Recommended Posts

New to my Z and valves. About to do my first shim job.

I measured the clearances with feelers, they are all at the minimum tolerances.

When I put the new shims in, do I want to set it at the "top" of the tolerence range? Or in the middle? Make sense? Is it different for intake and exhaust?

Thanks.....Still getting used to the 4 stroke world......

your is likely exactly how it left the assembly line.
