05 CRF250x Update to 2010

Recommended Posts

Instead of buying that 2010 bike (wife will hate you) consider doing what I did, take a look. I totally rebuilt the motor, did all the air box, cam, no smog, jetting, etc. These are the things you cant see. Here ate the things you can see. Did everything from chain and sprockets, brakes, guides, plastic, seat, guards, tires, etc. It rips!

How much louder is the new add on muffler compared to the sock? thinking about going that route but I like my bike quiet.

I have a Q4 on my CRF450x. It's louder than stock but not really obnoxious like the R muffler. I personally like the sound and I'm not really a loud exhaust guy.

Thanks guys. The FMF is not very load. Actually I think it is quieter than stock at low rpm. You will be glad you bought the pipe. The stock one is pretty bad.

You might confuse a couple people with what year your bike is:smirk:

Very nice! I personally like the red/white plastics combo on the new Hondas. You did a great job.

Here are the specs. I did this over several months getting a part a week

new 06 - 48 states cylinder head

piston

piston rings

head gaskets

valves

jetting

R cam

UFO white rear fender

UFO white side panels

FMF Q4 exhaust

Dunlop rear tire

Galer wave rotors Front and rear

Galfer brake pads

DID gold xring chain

Ironman hardened stainless steel sprockets

T&M Designs chain guide and slide and rollers

Light speed carbon fiber rear brake caliper guard and disc guard

Replaced head light plate with Cycra stadium number plate

Hammerhead case saver - red anodized aluminum

N-style racing red gripper seat cover

Twin air power kit air filter

Removed tripometer and cable and grind off brackets

Clean and polish frame and plastics, wheels etc.

What I would suggest besides rebuilding the engine, remove any smog, open air box is to replace your chain and sprockets and proper adjustment. This makes a huge difference in control of your bike.

Looks great! Good job on the refresh. I am a fan of the red and white plastics on the newer bikes.
