California Any No. Calers race in Baja

Recommended Posts

Does anyone from NoCal who normally ride / race the harescrambles and enduros (D36) go to Baja to race either the 500 or 1000? Like many I have one reliable riding buddy and a few others who are extremely willing to help out that want to run the 500 in 2011. Living in NoCal we don't have that easy desert access for practice or races. We could do a couple of the Northern Nevada races but it wouldn't be possible to make that a regular event. For those of you that might race in Baja I would love to pick your brain about how we could make this happen. I have been told the JCR pit service is the way to go so if anyone has used this I would like to hear about the particulars of this as well.

Thanks

The guys out at RPS in Shingle Springs ran it this last year. I don't know if they race around here but, Mark ?(the owner I think) could point you in the right direction. Also, if your looking at a Beta they are the people to go to around here.

You know there's a Baja forum here right? You'll get all the answers and advice you could want there. Some of it may even be helpful.

I am out of Contra Costa County. I have checked out the baja forum and there is some great info in there. I just thought that we no cal riders that might be interested or have done it could put it together to help point each other in the right direction. Thanks for the info so far. If anyone is interested in this it would be pretty cool to enter some of the northern nevada races and maybe take a trip down for a D37 event.

We are in our early forties and race the B harescrambles. We have been off and on the bikes recently because of one surgery or another and are just starting to get going again.

I don't know if I could solo the 500; however, my riding buddy is for sure (as of today) in to team it with me. anything could happen between now and then but 14 months is not that long of a time to get ready, especially if you live up here where we think about single track not the desert.
