CRF250R and KX250F Showa fork differences

Recommended Posts

Is there a big difference between the 2009 KX250F Showa forks and the 2009 CRF250R forks (besides the obvious DLC). I'm asking because could I take the valving and springs out of my 09 CRF forks, and put it in the 09 KXF forks. Because according to statistics, they seem like the same exact forks. Both are 47MM inverted Showas with 16 position dampening and 12.4" of travel. Thanks

Edit: I'm also pretty sure the lugs are different for the brake caliper (someone correct me if I'm wrong), but that can be pressed on and off. Also, the reason I'm asking is because one of my forks looks to be bent (real bad get off), and DLC couldn't hurt

Should be identicle even the caliper mounting.

If the caliper mounting is diffrent you could either swap lugs ( do not try it your self unless you know exactly what you are doing) use a kawi caliper if the rotor works in it.

As far as the internal and springs they are the same.

I wouldn't be surprised if the caliper bracket is identical

But does the wheel fit?

Axle size, hub width and so on?
