anti-freez in cylinder! HELP

pulled off the head and there was a puddle of anti freeze on top of the cylinder. is there any way the freeze got in without the gasket bein bad and will the cylinder be ok and if it leaked into the bottom end.

Not trying to sound smart but did you take out the bolt on the water pump cover and drain the system. If not the anti-freeze would have come out of the head when you took it off.

If you did then it could be the head gasket but you'll probably put a new one in when the head goes back on so that should rectify the problem :banana:

Either your gasket was bad, or like they said above it just got in there while you were pulling the head. Either way a new gasket should fix the problem. And no, a little AF in the bottom end won't hurt you, it'll get burned off once you've run it for a little while.
