how to fix a spoongy rear brake?

got a 05 yz125 and notice my rear brake has gottan spoongy. How can i fix this? Do i need to bleed something? thanks

If the fluid hasn't been changed in the past year it probably is contaminated. Start by removing the cap on the master cylinder and begin bleeding the brakes. You want to bleed them until the master cylinder is nearly empty but don't let it run out. Fill the master cylinder with new fluid and continue bleeding. You will know when most of the old fluid is out of the system as the fluid coming out of the bleeder will be clean. From there just bleed until the pedal becomes firm.

Do a search for "bleeding brakes" on Youtube. Their are several good vids there that will help.

Thanks. Yeah they felt fine before and then I noticed they started to feel this way after I pryed the pads out of the way to do work about a handful of times.
