xt350 jetting formula?

Recommended Posts

Mt buddy just bought a 89' xt350 today. I'm trying to find out some info about jetting it. It has the stock pipe and air filter. Sorry I don't know what the stock jets are but it has never been touched other then oil changes. I'm wondering if it would benefit from a larger airbox hole and jetted accordingly like the DRZ's do. If so any tips on what size jets to use?

Found this "kit" on ebay but it looks like it just comes with a few main jets and some needle spacers.

Bike would be riding from 500' to 3,000'. Pacific Northwest 40 to 80 degrees

I baught this exact kit for my 88 xt350. It has one main jet for the primary carb a drill bit to drill out the secondary carb jet a slide hole mod and a mod to adjust the mixture screw. I installed the main jet which was .130 and now it cuts out at high rpms.
