YZ250F Fly Wheel Weights, anybody use them?

Recommended Posts

I picked up a 2005 YZ250F to start trail riding with again.

Does anyone have any experience with adding a fly wheel weight to this bike?

Does it make it chug any better and not stall?

Yes, I got the GYTR flywheel, and it tames it quite a bit. Makes it hook up in mud better. Understand that it does not reduce your horspower at all, only allows you to hook up better under power, or helps keep you from stalling at low rpms. Only negative I've noticed is if I get on the back brake hard, it chatters the chain like my XR250 did. That's normal and a function of having the heavier flywheel, the motor just can't react as quickly. I'm not using mine as much now that I have a different bike for tight woods. PM me for a good price on it.

This is the best mod that I have made to my bike to date!!!!

It puts the power down in a much more usable fashion.

It chugs around the corners without any hint of stalling.

Thanks Ron.

Thanks for the follow-up Dirtaholic! I'm researching the same thing.
