leaking coolant somewhere...

just did the top end on my 98 rm 250. ran it for a bit and noticed the stand was in a puddle of what looked like water. it was coolant and i traced to somewhere around the right side of the top of the head. is it possible i put to much in or do i have a leak somewhere? i couldn't tell where that high up on the engine

Sounds like the head gasket is leaking.

ive never done a top end before, so do i have to drain all my fluids again or can i just take the top off and recheck the gasket

Check your hose first. I've had a loose clamp cause a leak that I though was the head gasket.

anyone have the manual for this bike? what is the torque spec of the head bolts?
