new engine breakin

Recommended Posts

non synthetic oil, first start up- let idle till hot then let cool down and retorque/check valve clearances, then take it to a track- ride the first lap kind of slow checking for unusual noises but at the same time not staying at the same rpm (shift alot) then do about 2 or 3 really hard laps with alot of shifting and engine braking.. go home and let it cool- change oil, retorque, ect.. after about 1-2 hrs you can go to the oil you want and ride the bike normal, if you did just a top end after about 15-30 minutes of riding everything is broken in
