reduced number of shims, need spacer?

Recommended Posts

I am preparing to re-shim my 05 cr250 to match the stacks of a crf250x for off road riding. I have changed oil before, but never re-shimmed.

When reducing the total height of the shim stack, will I need a spacer?

Here is what I am expecting:

Fork Compression stack to be shortened by 0.4mm

Fork Mid Valve stack to be shortened 0.3mm

Fork Rebound stack to be shortened 0.1mm

Shock Comp stack to be increased 1.85mm

Shock Rebound stack to be shortened 1.9mm

at the midvalve the shims move on a spacer. if you remove shims you increase the float. so you have to fill this space, simply by adding the removed shims behind the clamp
