Supercross Dean Wilson stuck at the border

Recommended Posts

Unfortunately, due to missing paperwork, Dean has been stuck in Canada all week, and as of right now, Friday afternoon, he has lawyers, family members and agents trying to sort it out so he can get to Dallas tomorrow.

He only has until 7 pm EST to figure it out. Hopefully it gets sorted out so he is on the gate in Texas.

Damn border regulations....... can't they tell who is and who isn't a terrorist?

Maybe Stroupe has a family member that works for customs?

The feds at the border are really strict on work permits...If you don't have the correct permit and they think you are employed in the US, they won't let you in.

Deano has been workin' as an illegal-alien, without a greencard. "But I'm from East-LA, holmes!":smirk:

Time to get an agent that actually does the work he's taking his cut for. 👍

Things you should have in order when you leave and enter a country.

Your paperwork. 👍

He should have told border patrol he was just there for lawn care. He would be in Texas with thousands of other illegals right now.

To bad for him, he's a solid rider this season.

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider Dean Wilson may not make it to the Dallas Supercross this weekend, as the teenager from Canada got stuck in customs there after trying to return to the U.S. following the Toronto race last Saturday night. It is being reported that he lacked the proper paperwork and as a result was still in Canada as of late last night. We are awaiting word from the AMA whether or not he makes it across the border and then on to Dallas before tech inspection and sign-up close. Stay tuned.

racerxonline Dean Wilson is definitely out of the Dallas SX. he's stuck in Canada. Full report on racerxonline.com in a bit. #sx http://bit.ly/96E8mi 33 minutes ago via TweetDeck

When travelling for work an employer usually makes sure your paperwork is in order prior to travel. PC "thought" it was in order?? They are dealing with thousands and thousands of dollars and they don't have their own attorney to verify this information? This is really unfortunate for Wison as he's really been shining as a rookie.

that's crazy ....he's from canada (and living in US training) not Iran/North Korea/Cuba/France etc (ie fill in blank of country that hates Americans --Canada certainly not being one of them)

somebody missed the ball on this one big time -that's too bad he is certainly an up and coming rider.

Racer X's Steve Cox is reporting that coming back from Canada following the Toronto Supercross, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Dean Wilson ran into some immigration problems. Supposedly, he waited till the end of December to sign his contract with Pro Circuit, and because he wasn't 18 and couldn't sign it legally, and he couldn't sort his paperwork out till after that. Apparently, they thought everything was done because his agent, Tony Gardea, had lawyers working on everything, so they thought everything was legit. But, as it turns out, something wasn't filed properly, so when he went to leave the country again they wouldn't let him out. As a matter of fact, the whole Wilson family is stuck back there, not just him. He's been working on it all week, and Friday morning they finally got it all done and they submitted it to the Canadian officials, and at 5:00 p.m. Friday they still hadn't had a chance to look at it yet, so they said, “Sorry, we'll look at it Monday.”

Wilson, who finished fourth in Canada and held third in the East Region rankings behind his teammate Christophe Pourcel and Rockstar Suzuki's Austin Stroupe, will probably be back on Monday or Tuesday of next week, but as for tonight’s Dallas Supercross, he's definitely not making the race.

Somebody dropped the ball and should be fired. Lawyer or Agent?

Don't you just love bureaucracy 👍 Maybe MR Wilson will be looking for a new address.

This seems like another good example of the good old american bureaucracy at work. The irony is that I'm headed out to Jerrry's world now and you can bet there are a dozen guys working the grounds around the stadium, selling parking, or whatever else that don't have any paperwork at all.
