are the '01 and '03 yz125 engines the same? PLEASE HELP!

I'm looking to buy a used cylinder jug for my '03 yz125 and I was wondering if one from an '01 yz125 would work?

I think the cylinders from 99-04 will interchange. I'm not positive though.

Click on OEM

Select your make and model, start with the 01, and goto 'cylinder' in the drop down menu.

Copy and paste the part number into notepad.

Now do the same but this time choose the 03, compare the part number on the website with the one you wrote down, if they are the same then it's all good.

IF there are minor differences there is a thread here that explains yamaha part numbers and what they mean. Most of the time the parts are compatible but when through a minor change giving it a slightly different part number.
