Drinkn_Buddy Posted March 22, 2010 Anyone know the results of the EIS for Downieville? I know they were closing trails but i have no idea what got closed or if anything is left that is dual use. The last rumor i heard was that all trail was going mountain bike and foot traffic only....
OldeDude Posted March 22, 2010 Nothing is final yet, and its not an EIS just for Downieville, but the entire Tahoe National Forest. They recently released a Supplemental DEIS for public comment, its HUGE, and I haven't had time to read any of it yet, but I did read a brief summary. The basics are that they want to close much more (several hundred more miles of roads and trails) than the massive closures recommended in the original DEIS.
