Recommended Posts

Hey guys my bike has been heating up on a regular basis its a 06 rm250 been ridden total of 30 hours have not redone top end yet . I've just ordered a new boyesen super cooler have not installed it yet. im trying to figure out what the problem is i am running engine ice for my cooling and have a overflow installed also gonna check my gearbox if it is overfilled (which can prevent heat from dissipating properly) Thanks for any input!!!

revs up by it self and wont go back to idle, got an air leak somewhere. Do a leak down test

I agree

Revs high on its own but only when it gets hot

You may have the cart before the horse here.

The high revving indicates a lean condition (ie air leak), this will rapidly cause it to overheat. That seems more logical than getting hot then developing an air leak.
